Unhinged

There are days it gets to me. The more I work, the more I discover, the the more people I lose respect for. It can bleed one dry.

We often look for heroes. I often look for the heroic side of each person. There is always that side. That side which, when fueled by intellect, can do a lot to move us forward.

The past generation had the benefit of the likes of Lorenzo Tanada. They had Jose Diokno. A younger hence more physically able Jovito Salonga.

I just lost one hero today. And it makes me sad.

Why is it that people who fought for their ideals in the past, in their younger days, are making ethical mistakes in their old age, just when money should no longer matter but legacy should? Why do they develop feet of clay late in life?

I have faith in this country. I am just beginning to lose a bit more of it every day.

Heaven help us.

I guess whoever you're talking about is just tired from fighting for his/her ideals. It's tough to be consistent throughout life, I suppose. It's disappointing though to hear that one has given up fighting for his/her ideals.

angel, hindi mo kilala.

duke, mag-update ka muna.

kero, pag magkokonsulta ako sa iyo, sasabihin ko sa iyo.

snugly, kabit system, iyong isa pang klase ng nepotism. hehe.

intsik, i'm past it. i talked to him na. not nice to see old people fall before your estimation. it makes me a bit more jaded than i already am.

wil, compromises for money cannot be justified. kaso ganoon talaga eh. meron talaga noon. hamo na. just another name na lang siya.

ever heard of the story about the knight errant conscripted by the town people to liberate them from the ogre in the palace? when he slew the ogre, he became one himself. this need for hero only results in a vicious cycle.

Lorenzo TaƱada also had feet of clay. I heard he was an uncompromising male chauvinist. But he had his saving grace/s (as you very well know)

Don Claro , Diokno the list goes on. They too were my heroes. Pero I've learned not to worship them too much these days.
